The Special Oath Bible donated by the Bible Society of Malawi was used during the inauguration of President Bingu wa Mutharika in May 2009 into second term of office. The Bible costed USD 1,600 to produce and will be used for inauguration of President's for the next 100 years.
In the picture the Board Chairman, Mr Harry G.Mtuwa, is presenting the bible to Mr Chinthu Phiri the secretary to cabinet while the Attorney General, Justice Dr.Mrs J.M.Ansah and the Solicitor General, Mr Anthony Kamanga are looking on. The BSM General Secretary andTwo other board members were present at the function held on 15th May 2009 at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre, five (5) days before going to the polls on 19th May 2009. |
